Letter to the Editor: Nuovo praised for open mind

As a community and a nation we need more voices today like that of Victor Nuovo, cited in the March 23 edition of the Independent.
“We are a deliberative body,” he said, referring to the Middlebury selectboard. “We also need to compromise.”
Compromise is a word and a concept too often absent in today’s world. It is also how people with opposing views get things done. Victor concluded his remarks and indicated his changed position with clarity, logic and grace. We can all learn from his example.
