Extension to offer food safety course March 30
BURLINGTON — A two-hour class will be offered at two locations to provide food processors with an update on regulatory compliance for food facilities under the requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
University of Vermont (UVM) Extension, in collaboration with the Vermont Small Business Development Center, will offer the class on March 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Community College of Vermont, 145 Billings Farm Rd., White River Junction, and April 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Vermont Technical Center, 201 Lawrence Place, Williston.
Presenters are Dr. Omar A. Oyarzabal, UVM Extension food safety specialist, and Elisabeth Wirsing, the Vermont Department of Health food and lodging program chief. There will be a question and answer session at the conclusion of the class.
