Tiger girls’ basketball team falls in D-1 playoffs
COLCHESTER — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ basketball season ended on Wednesday, when No. 8 Colchester outlasted the visiting No. 9 Tigers, 52-46, in a first-round Division I playoff game.
The win was the third in as many tries this winter over the Tigers for the 14-7 Lakers, who had edged MUHS twice in Lake Division play.
Gabby Gosselin sparked the Lakers with 19 points, eight rebounds and six steals as they advanced to a Friday quarterfinal at No. 1 St. Johnsbury.
Keagan Dunbar (17 points) and Payton Buxton (14) led the Tigers, who finished a solid season at 13-8.
