In boys’ high school hoop: Eagles fall to Slaters; OV falls on the road
ADDISON COUNTY — In area high school boys’ basketball late last week as the regular season concluded, Mount Abraham dropped a pair of games, one to Fair Haven, while Otter Valley lost on the road to finish at .500.
The Vermont Principals’ Association was set to release official playoff pairings on Monday morning.
EAGLES-SLATERS
On Wednesday, visiting Fair Haven improved to 13-6 with a 66-51 win at Mount Abe. The Slaters, who got 17 points from Dylan Ellis and 16 from Darren Brown, are locked into the No. 6 seed in Division II and will host either Montpelier or Hartford in the first round.
Coleman Russell (19) and Chris Wood (10) topped the Eagles in scoring.
EAGLES
On Friday, host Milton held off the Eagles, 67-59, although Russell (20 points), Jack Willis (13) and Dustin Whitcomb (11) reached double figures for Mount Abe.
The 5-15 Eagles will apparently earn the No. 15 seed in D-II and will visit undefeated No. 2 Enosburg in the first round.
OTTERS
On Friday, host D-I Burr & Burton bested OV, 54-45, despite 21 points from Payson Williams and 14 from Dylan Mackie.
Despite the setback, the 10-10 Otters apparently earned the No. 8 seed in D-II and will host No. 9 Milton (9-11) in the first round.
