Brandon to host 1860s-style social

BRANDON — On Saturday, Feb. 11, there will be a unique community event in Brandon. St. Thomas & Grace Church is hosting an 1860s style “Social” to commemorate a similar event held in February 1862 at the Brandon Town Hall as a fundraiser for St. Thomas Church, which was under construction.
The “social” will feature children’s games and food and drink from the 1860s.
Everyone is welcome — drop by for a little while, stay for the full event, come in period costume if you like. The poster from the original event will be on display.
This 2017 Social will be held at the historic Brandon Town Hall from4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The building is located on Route 7 in the center of Brandon and is handicap accessible. Admission is by donation with all proceeds to benefit the Friends of the Brandon Town Hall. For more information, contact Madine Reed at 353-9554.
