Local track and field athletes compete at Norwich

NORTHFIELD — A first-place finish in the girls’ 55-meter hurdles by Mount Abraham Union High School junior Lydia Pitts highlighted local athletes’ efforts at an all-division indoor track and field meet held on Saturday at Norwich University.
Middlebury junior Chloe Kane also excelled, taking third in the girls’ 55-meter sprint and eighth at 300 meters. Tiger senior Henry Ganey also posted a top-10 result, taking ninth in the boys’ 600.
Commodore seniors Sadie Kass (11th in the girls’ 1,000) and Megan Rooney (12th in the girls’ 300) earned the best results for the Vergennes contingent against athletes from all divisions from around Vermont.
This Saturday the local athletes will compete in the indoor track and field championship meet against other D-II teams, again at Norwich University.
