On January 19 I was admitted to Porter ER. From the first admitting nurse that evening, to the last discharge nurse days later, I received exceptional care. When I came into the ER I was a pretty sick guy. At least three very efficient nurses and two doctors were immediately getting me past the first stages of my problems. They were fantastic! 
Once I was stabilized there was a bed ready on the floor. Efforts to ease my discomfort continued. In every department of the hospital there was a team spirit and there were no grumpy employees. The housekeeping staff did their job with the least disruption to my comfort. The nursing staff responded to my many medical needs in a timely, professional manner and with great empathy.  The medical staff regularly communicated with me and my family and kept me up to date on what plans they had to get me well.  I felt confident in, and am grateful for, their medical knowledge and abilities, and their experience and instincts.                
When I was finally able to eat, the kitchen delivered what was ordered with a cheery “good morning,” and everyone always asked before leaving my room, “Is there anything else you need?”  Imaging technicians were on time and extremely professional. Finally, my surgical physician, the hospitalist physicians, and the cardiologists explained everything that was going on with my situation and let me know what concerns they had and what progress I was making. 
Now that I am home and well on the way to total recovery, I wanted to THANK EVERYONE at Porter Hospital. The teamwork mentality and caring attitudes went a long way to getting me well again.
