Middlebury Police Log: Authorities investigate Memorial Sports Center break-in

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police are investigating a report of a burglary at the Memorial Sports Center off Buttolph Drive on Jan. 22.
Police said the culprit(s) forced their way inside to steal an unspecified amount of cash.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Responded to a verbal dispute in the Seymour Street area on Jan. 17.
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS officials with a suicidal patient in the Cross Street area on Jan. 17.
•  Investigated a two-vehicle crash, with injuries, at the intersection of Route 7 North and Exchange Street on Jan. 18. Police said one of the drivers sustained minor injuries.
•  Spoke with a Middlebury Union High School student on Jan. 18 who said one of his friends had engaged in self-harm.
•  Helped Middlebury College Public Safety identify a non-student on campus on Jan. 19.
•  Responded to noise complaints in the area of Court and North Pleasant streets on Jan. 19.
•  Quieted a loud party at a Weybridge Street home on Jan. 20.
•  Assisted Middlebury College Public Safety at the scene of an accident on South Main Street on Jan. 20.
•  Assisted an Exchange Street business that on Jan. 20 reported someone had forged some of its company checks and cashed them out of state.
•  Convinced a local man to return to his home on Jan. 21 after he was allegedly seen walking in front of traffic on Quarry Road on Jan. 21.
•  Responded to a report of a suicidal man on the railroad tracks off Seymour Street on Jan. 22.
•  Heard from a local resident on Jan. 22 who alleged their stolen credit card had been fraudulently used in another state.
•  Responded to a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on Court Street Extension on Jan. 22.
•  Responded on Jan. 22 to a reported domestic dispute at a Case Street residence on Jan. 22. Police calmed the situation.
