Tiger gymnasts top Milton
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School gymnastics team on Monday edged visiting Milton, 114.75-109.6, in a meet the Tigers hosted at Middlebury Union Middle School, their home court.
Taking first-place finishes for the Tigers were Aly Chione and Olivia Beauchamp. Lian McGarry also earned first-place points for MUHS after finishing second in the vault behind Fair Haven independent Julianna Williams, who trains with the Tigers.
The top three finishers in each event were:
• Vault: 1. Williams (FHU), 8.15; 2. McGarry (MUHS), 8.0; 3. Alexis Drown (Milt), 7.9.
• Bars: 1. Chione (MUHS), 6.4; 2. McGarry (MUHS), 6.0; 3. Drown (Milt) and Laura Whitley (MUHS), 5.8.
• Beam: 1. Beauchamp (MUHS), 8.1; 2. McGarry and Whitley (MUHS) and Drown (Milt), 8.0.
• Floor: 1. Williams (FHU) and Drown (Milt), 7.9; 3. Carly Burger (MUHS), 7.7.
• All-Around: 1. Drown (Milt), 29.6; 2. Beauchamp (MUHS), 27.1; 3. Suraya Davis (Milt), 26.9.
