Note of Appreciation: Theater-goers backed scholarships
Dear Members of the Community, The Middlebury Community Players Board would like to extend a very warm thank-you to the many members of the community who came to see “The Nutcracker’s Adventure” during the first weekend in December at MUHS. Thirty-two local children danced and sang the show into our hearts.
We would also like to express our appreciation to the audience for your wonderful, generous support of the MCP scholarship fund. Scholarships are funded through the buying of all the tasty treats at the concessions stand. As people purchase cookies and cupcakes and brownies, we ring a bell to signify when patrons make an extra donation. At “The Nutcracker’s Adventure,” we were ringing the bell non-stop, and we made nearly $1,000 in concession sales over the course of the weekend!
Each year the Players award two $1,000 scholarships to college-bound young people who have worked with MCP, and in addition, we provide tuition assistance for children and adults to take Town Hall Theater classes. Your generosity helps make all that and more possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Elizabeth Maher, Bristol
on behalf of the Middlebury Community Players Board
