VERGENNES — Each year the committee members of the Vergennes Day Race choose a recipient to receive a donation from their race proceeds. For 2016, the Sweet Charity store located at 141 A on Main St. in Vergennes was the recipient of a $250 donation. Sweet Charity is a local nonprofit that is managed by the Women of Wisdom, which helps empower women and children in need in the local community.
