Middlebury Christmas tree pick-up slated for Jan. 7

MIDDLEBURY — Christmas trees in the town of Middlebury will be collected Saturday, Jan. 7, beginning at 8 a.m.
Trees for pickup should be put out Friday near the roadside and be visible. The trees will be recycled so trees that have any metal on them will not be picked up.
Wreaths should either be disposed of with regular trash or taken apart completely, removing all metal, and composted or recycled with the transfer station’s leaf and yard waste program.
If you miss the curbside pickup or live in another Addison County town, you can drop off your tree at the Addison District Transfer Station from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Monday-Friday) and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Saturday). The Transfer Station is located at 1223 Route 7 South in Middlebury (388-2333). Christmas trees for Merry Mulch are accepted free of charge until the end of January.
This is a volunteer project of the Rotary Club of Middlebury with help from Casella Resource Solutions and Monument Farms Dairy.
