Celebrate solstice at the Waterworks in Bristol

BRISTOL — Come one, come all to the annual Winter Solstice gathering at the Waterworks property in Bristol. This long-running celebration, co-sponsored by The Watershed Center and Vermont Family Forests, will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 at the Norton Brook Reservoir, a half-mile walk from the parking area at 4783 Plank Road.
Follow a trail of luminaries to the reservoir and join the festivities — bonfire, potluck, music by Rick Cebellos and friends, community singing and a bit of solstice pageantry — bringing in the light and offering gratitude to the forest for its boundless gifts.
Bring a potluck dish to share, a musical instrument if you like, a flashlight or headlamp, plenty of warm layers and boots. Be prepared for ice and/or snow on the trail to the reservoir. Please leave pets at home.
