Mary’s in Bristol to host free holiday meal for the public on Dec. 18

BRISTOL — All Addison County residents are invited to take part in the 34th Annual Holiday Project of the Harmon family and the Inn at Baldwin Creek when they stage Bristol’s Christmas Dinner and Festival this Sunday at Mary’s Restaurant.
The Dec. 18 celebration will feature dinner and festivities starting at 11:30 and continue until all are served. The Inn at Baldwin Creek & Mary’s Restaurant provides the meal, supported by donations from local businesses, and dozens of volunteers coordinate the event.
This holiday event is free and all Addison County residents are invited to share in the holiday spirit. A bountiful turkey and ham dinner buffet paired with superb local entertainment are the highlights of this annual event. Over 200 county residents usually partake in the festivities, from seniors delighted to share the warmth of the holiday spirit to families with young children who appreciate the great food and joyful atmosphere.
For many, the most anticipated thrill is talking with Santa, who always finds time to stop by to see the children. Many local musicians and performers entertain throughout the day. If you are an entertainer and would like to volunteer, call 802-453-4613.
As always, free transportation is available to those needing a ride to and from the Inn at Baldwin Creek, which is located on Route 116 north of Bristol village, right where Route 17 turns up the hill to South Starksboro and the Appalachian Gap. Home delivered meals for shut-ins are also delivered throughout the day. Some years nearly 100 home deliveries are made. Requests for transportation and home delivery to shut-ins must be received by Friday, Dec. 16 — call 802-453-2432 to reserve a ride or home delivery.
For additional information, volunteer opportunities or donations call Linda Harmon at the Inn at Baldwin Creek. 802-453-2432.
