Hartford slips past Tiger boys’ hockey, 2-1
MIDDLEBURY — Visiting Hartford edged the Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team on Saturday, 2-1, in what will be the Tigers’ only game against a Vermont Division II foe this winter as they transition to D-I play.
The Tigers will hit the road on Wednesday for their league opener at Spaulding at 7:30 p.m.
On this past Saturday, the Tigers earned a 36-16 edged in shots on goal, but Hurricane goalie Richie Morrill stopped everything except an Erik Sherman third-period bid that created the final score.
Ben Rouillard scored once and set up a Jacob Derosier goal for Hartford. Tiger goalie Doug DeLorenzo made 14 saves.
