Vergennes Police Log: City police seek information on injured man
VERGENNES — Vergennes police are seeking more information about the circumstances surrounding a man found unconscious and unresponsive in a Green Street parking lot at about 5 a.m. on Nov. 28.
Police said the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad took the man to Porter Hospital, but he was soon transported to the UVM Medical Center. There he was diagnosed with what they described as internal head trauma, and police said as of earlier this week he remained in an induced coma.
Police also said the man had fallen the week before, and that they do not suspect foul play; for that reason they asked that the patient’s name not be made public.
However, police would like to understand how the man came to be lying in the parking lot that morning, and are asking anyone who might have seen anything or has any information to please call Chief George Merkel at 877-1152.
