ADDISON COUNTY — The roads were covered with snow and it was dark this past Sunday evening when Vermont State Police were dispatched at 6:40 p.m. to a single-vehicle rollover crash off a snow-covered Route 17 in Waltham.

The truck was considered a total loss.

•  On Nov. 16 at 9:30 p.m. were told by the Rutland City police that 27-year-old Erica Fitzgerald, a fugitive from New Hampshire who also had two warrants for her arrest in Vermont, was at a Route 7 home in Salisbury. Troopers from the New Haven barracks went to the residence and located Fitzgerald hiding under a house when a housecat was found meowing at the siding near her hiding spot.
Police lodged Fitzgerald at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility with bail set at $50,000.

•  On Nov. 19 at approximately 10:50 a.m. went to the scene of a three-car crash on Route 30 south of Route 74 in Cornwall. Following investigation police determined that a 2011 Subaru Impreza driven by Dylan Schulte, 21, of Orwell was traveling too closely and rear-ended a 2007 GMC Acadia driven in front of him by Anita Lamonda, 52, of Whiting. This collision caused the Acadia to collide with a 2015 Toyota Rav-4 driven by Holly Arnold, 29, of Manchester, N.H., causing rear-end damage. Lamonda was transported to Porter Hospital for complaints of lower back pain. Schulte and Arnold were treated and released on scene by first responders.
Police said that damage that was done to the three vehicles was consistent with statements made by the drivers and witnesses on scene. Police issued Schulte a ticket for following too closely.
•  On Nov. 21 began investigation of a fire in a Proctor apartment building that is owned by a Salisbury man — Bryan Jones. At approximately 11:30 a.m. that Monday morning the Proctor Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 6 Green Square in Proctor. A neighbor had called in the fire. Police report that Marszalkowski and the woman had an argument about beef stew, and the woman told troopers that Marszalkowski had pushed her back and caused pain to her neck. Marszalkowski was found to be severely intoxicated, he later submitted to a preliminary breath test that showed his blood alcohol level was 0.227 percent; for reference the legal limit for driving is 0.08.
