Letter to the editor: Quakers offer Havurah support

The swastika recently drawn on the door of Havurah House greatly disturbs us. As a matter of principle, we reject hate speech in any form, and we are grieved to find that this has happened in Addison County. Whatever disagreements we have among ourselves do not give permission of any kind to act out hate, in speech or actions.
In situations of conflict or strong disagreements of whatever nature, we support efforts that encourage inclusivity, understanding and dialogue that strengthen rather than divide our community. We wish to express our support for Havurah and all the Jewish community.
