Vermont State Police Log: Local man killed in Route 7 crash
ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police are investigating a Route 7 car-truck crash on Nov. 3 that claimed the life of an Addison County man.
Andrew Godaire, 22, of Ferrisburgh was driving a 2015 Hyundai Sonata southbound on Route 7 in Charlotte near Crosswind Road just north of Nordic Farms, when his car was struck by a northbound tractor-trailer driven by 50-year-old Jose Nunez of Cazenovia, N.Y.
Godaire, who was wearing a seatbelt, was killed in the crash. His vehicle was totaled.
Nunez was not injured, but the Freightliner he was driving sustained extensive front-end damage and was considered a total loss.
In addition to the state police, Shelburne police, Department of Motor Vehicles officials, and Charlotte fire and EMS officials responded to the scene.

In other recent activity, state police:
• On Nov. 4 at a little before 11:30 p.m. responded to the intersection of Routes 3 and 7 in Pittsford on a report that a vehicle had struck a utility pole the pole and wires were in the travel portion of Route 7. The vehicle was gone when police arrived, but evidence indicated that the vehicle may be a Toyota. Brandon police located a vehicle on Route 7 near Otter Valley Union High School.
Police said Jeffrey P. Guevin, 38, of Brandon was driving the 2001 Toyota pick-up that struck the pole in Pittsford. Troopers report that they saw signs of intoxication, but Guevin refused to provide a breath sample. The cited Guevin for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
• Were called to investigate a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Galvin Road in Whiting at around 4:15 a.m. on Nov. 5. Police said that a 43-year-old Shoreham man was driving a 2016 Ford truck when he fell asleep and drove into a ditch off Galvin Road near North Road and collided with several trees causing the truck’s airbag to deploy. The driver was wearing a seat belt and not injured, but the entire front end of the truck sustained massive damage.
