Mount Abe hosts cross country race for youngsters

BRISTOL — A dozen-and-a-half youngsters challenged themselves and enjoyed a sunny Friday afternoon on Oct. 14, when the Mount Abraham Union High School cross-country program hosted its annual Mount Abe Cross Country PeeWee Invitational.
Participants ranged from kindergarteners to 6th-graders, and distances ranged from a quarter-mile to a mile.
The results were:
•  Kindergarten and Pre-K girls (1/4 mile): 1. Tessa Whittemore, 3:21.
Kindergarten and Pre-K boys (1/4 mile): 1. Reed Francis Harris, 2:45.
•  1st and 2nd grade girls (1/2 mile): 1. Sloane Grzyb, 5:05; 2. Ada Thomas, 5:06; 3. Tekneal Russell, 5:07.
•  1st and 2nd grade boys (1/2 mile): 1. Waydon Cherington, 4:23.
•  3rd and 4th grade girls (3/4 mile): 1. Morgan Larocque, 6:02; 2. Charlotte Crum, 6:03; 3. Raquel Harris, 6:16; 4. Skylar MacDonald, 6:21; 5. Noella Harris, 6:21; 6. Emma Cornett, 6:23.
•  3rd and 4th grade boys (3/4 mile): 1. Charlie Germon, 5:43.
•  5th and 6th grade girls (1 mile): 1. Charlotte Crum, 8:51.
•  5th and 6th grade boys (1 mile): 1. Bojan Harris, 8:49; 2. Mason Frazier, 8:59, 3. Michael Sayre, 13:39.
