BRISTOL — On this past Sunday, just after midnight, Bristol police issued multiple citations to a Bristol resident, including driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense, at an East Street traffic stop.
Bristol police also cited Charles Correll, 59, for driving with a suspended license, criminal offense, and violation of conditions of release.
In other action between Nov. 1 and 6, the department:
•  On Nov. 1 responded to a report from a Munsill Avenue resident of a suspicious odor the complainant believed to be from methamphetamine manufacturing. Police said the report, a repeat claim, was unfounded.
•  On Nov. 1 picked up a stray dog on Route 116 in Starksboro and took it to the pound until an owner was identified. A picture of the dog was posted to the department’s Facebook page.
•  On Nov. 1 called a locksmith to the RiteAid parking lot, where a woman had locked herself out of her car with an infant inside. Access was gained and the infant slept through the incident.
•  On Nov. 1 discussed a family concern with the Bristol Elementary School guidance counselor.
•  On Nov. 2 determined to be false a report of the odor of crack cocaine coming from a neighboring apartment; police said the same complainant had been filed several similar false complaints in prior days.
•  On Nov. 2 responded to a Main St. residence to check on the welfare of a resident per request of a family member; the resident was OK and was asked to call the family member.
•  On Nov. 2 took a report from an East Street resident of possible identity theft. The resident was notified by his bank that an unsuccessful attempt had been made to get financing in the resident’s name. Police gave the resident referrals and information on steps to protect against further identity theft.
•  On Nov. 2 responded to a minor two-car accident in the parking lot of Champlain Farms.  
•  On Nov. 2 checked out a teen at a community center reported to be smelling of marijuana, but found no evidence of marijuana or contraband.
•  On Nov. 3 responded to a Main Street apartment, where a subject was reportedly threatening suicide; police found the subject OK and reporting no immediate desire to self-harm.
•  On Nov. 3 took a report from a resident said his daughter was harassed walking home from school by a male teen at a Mountain Street home; he allegedly shouted an obscenity. Police said they would follow up.
•  On Nov. 3 heard from a woman seeking help finding her teenage daughter. She reported calling her daughter, asking her to come home. The daughter refused, and then shut her phone off, according to police. The mother called back to report all was OK before police could alert other agencies.
•  On Nov. 4 searched the Mount Abraham Union High School area unsuccessfully for a silver sedan that reportedly was driving through parking areas slowly while sounding its horn.  
•  On Nov. 4 helped Bristol Rescue Squad personnel and firefighters gain access to a patient at a Munsill Avenue apartment.  
•  On Nov. 4 received a report of a minor car accident on School Street.
•  On Nov. 5 checked the welfare of South Street residents, who were determined to be fine.
•  On Nov. 5 served a temporary stalking order on a resident after it was issued by Addison County Family Court.  
•  On Nov. 6 checked the welfare of South Street residents, who were determined to be fine. Police said they have received many recent requests to make welfare checks at the same address, and asked the residents to contact the family member making the requests.
•  On Nov. 6 responded to a report of two males fighting at an Elm Street residence. Police said they found two males injured from a possible fight, but both said there was no assault and that both fell during an argument. The Bristol Rescue Squad treated their injuries, and police waited until one of them left.
Bristol policed conducted a town-contracted patrols on Burpee Road on Nov. 5 and on Loves Lane on Nov. 6 — both resulted in written warnings.
