Letter to the editor: Zuckerman brings forward thinking to public service

From the very beginning in 1997, Sen. David Zuckerman has been framing his public service with questions of concern to all Vermonters. Who are the most vulnerable among us, and what change is needed to ensure we can all lead productive, dignified lives? How can we keep small farms and local businesses at the center of Vermont’s economic system? What is standing in the way of all of our children receiving the education they deserve and the healthy food they need? As we acknowledge our finite resources and our infinite ingenuity, in what direction can we sustainably move our energy supply and development initiatives?
David has consistently responded to these questions with forward thinking ideas. As Vermonters we all benefit from his successful leadership around GMO labeling, the places he has made for workers’ voices at the table and his insistence on equality for all Vermonters in a way that truly honors Freedom and Unity.
In the coming years the problems facing our state will only become more complex and demand more creative solutions. As our next lieutenant governor, and the first farmer to hold that position in more than 50 years, David Zuckerman will help lead us in a way that hears all voices and advocates for equitable solutions. I encourage you to vote for Sen. David Zuckerman for lieutenant governor on Nov. 8.
