Letter to the editor: Bruhl, Bray offer Vermont 21st-century solutions

This election year the presidential race has taken the lion’s share of the country’s attention.
As important as that race is, we are keeping our eyes on our local races. We have important choices to make when it comes to the challenges of global climate change.
Taborri Bruhl is running for state representative for the towns of Bridport, New Haven and Weybridge. Taborri has dedicated himself to finding practical, workable solutions to the energy crisis, solutions he has put into practice at his family’s home in New Haven. He has the energy, commitment, and knowledge to help the Vermont Legislature address these issues on a statewide basis.
Sen. Chris Bray is running for re-election for the state Senate. As chair of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy, Chris has continuously worked to build a broad, durable platform for continued progress on energy conservation, efficiency and renewables. Working with many different stakeholders, he was the lead sponsor of the Energy Siting Bill, which strikes an appropriate balance between local concerns and the need to get 90 percent of Vermont’s energy from renewable sources by 2050.
We need 21st Century solutions to 21st Century challenges. Taborri Bruhl and Chris Bray are already finding these solutions through their work on sustainability.
We are urging all residents who care about our common future to join us in casting your votes for Taborri Bruhl and Chris Bray on Nov. 8.
Fran and Spence Putnam
