As one might expect from a Democratic Party candidate, one of the centerpieces of Sue Minter’s campaign is a “freebie.” She proposes free tuition for college students that attend the proper colleges and would fund this freebie by increased taxes on out-of-state banks that do business in Vermont. Thus, it would cost Vermont taxpayers nothing. Hah! Where does she think these banks will get the money for the increased taxes?
