VUHS and MUHS boys’ soccer teams tie; Otter boys fall

ADDISON COUNTY — Vergennes and Middlebury battled to a draw in local high school boys’ soccer play in the latter half of last week. In other action, the Tigers won at home, but Otter Valley dropped a home contest.
The Commodores also visited Mount Abraham on Friday; see story.
VUHS-MUHS
Visiting VUHS earned a 1-1 tie vs. MUHS on Wednesday when Cameron McLaughlin scored with three minutes to go in the second half. J.D. Goettelmann, from Eben Jackson, had given the Tigers the lead.
Goalie Ethan Sausville stopped six shots for the Commodores, who will carry a 4-4-1 into Friday’s game in Bristol.
Goalie Santiago Fernandez made two saves for MUHS.
TIGERS
On Friday, the Tigers defeated visiting Missisquoi, 1-0, when George McKeever-Parkes converted a Camden Simpson assist with five minutes to go. Fernandez made two saves as the Tigers improved to 3-4-3, while Shane Laroche stopped nine shots for the 1-0 Thunderbirds.
OTTERS
On Saturday, visiting Proctor (5-1-3) edged the Otters, 3-2, on a late header on a restart. Josh Letourneau scored twice for OV, once on an assist from Maxwell Williams on a restart. OV dropped to 3-7-1.
