Field hockey wrap: Otter Valley and Mount Abraham claim victories

ADDISON COUNTY — In high school field hockey in the latter half of last week, Mount Abraham and Otter Valley picked up road wins, but Middlebury came up just short away from home.
EAGLES
On Friday, the Eagles rallied from a 3-2 second-half deficit to defeat host Mount Mansfield, 3-2. Jalen Cook’s goal with two minutes left in the extra session gave the Eagles the win, and it came after Robyn Arena made a game-saving overtime defensive play on the Mount Abe goal line.
Celia Heath andJackie Reiss scored the goals that tied the game, and goalie Chessley Jackman made six saves as the Eagles improved to 5-3-1. MMU, a winner in Bristol in September, dropped to 4-5.
OTTERS
On Wednesday, the Otters (6-4) blanked host Mount Anthony, 3-0. Allison Lowell scored twice, once with an assist from Isabella Falco, and Sophie Markowski added the third OV goal. OV goalies Myliah McDonough andEllie Ross each made one save, while MAU goalie Savannah Rogers stopped 12 shots.
The Otters’ Saturday home game was postponed due to an officials’ cancellation. No makeup date was immediately set.
TIGERS
On Friday, host Colchester (3-4-2) scored with a minute to go to defeat MUHS, 2-1. Nina Schroeren scored and goalie Bridget Audet made 15 saves as the Tigers dropped to 1-8.
