75-year-old man killed in Middlebury car crash Thursday evening
MIDDLEBURY — A 75-year-old Middlebury man was killed in a two-car crash on the south end of Middlebury village Thursday evening.
Middlebury police and fire officials and Middlebury Regional EMS responded to the crash at 7:43 p.m. on Sept. 29 to the scene of the crash on Court Street Extension in front of the Centre Plaza, where the Hannaford supermarket and TJ Maxx are located.
Police report that they found David H. Davignon, the driver and lone occupant of one of the vehicles, was unresponsive and bystanders began CPR.
MREMS took Davignon to Porter Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There were two occupants of the other vehicle. Both were transported to Porter Hospital for treatment of injuries that apparently were not life-threatening.
The cause of this collision is under investigation, though alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to the Middlebury Police Department at 388-3191; officer Kevin Emilio is investigating.
