I write to enthusiastically support Claire Ayer for re-election to the State Senate for Addison County.
Through my advocacy work in the State House, I’ve observed firsthand how Claire cuts straight through the partisan politics, and works tirelessly to improve Vermonters’ lives. Using her experience as a Registered Nurse, Claire has pushed forward important public health policies that actually work.
This past session alone, as Chair of the Senate’s Health and Welfare Committee, Claire took a leading role in passing Act 173, which provides a critical framework for addressing the opiate crisis through compassionate regulation of over-prescription, and wrote an important amendment to the Senate’s marijuana legalization, addressing the valid concerns raised by the Vermont Public Health Association.
We need smart, compassionate, responsible leaders like Claire Ayer representing us in Montpelier.
