Opinion: Embrace the changing colors

I read with amusement the letter to the editor on Sept. 15 about a person or persons who found a cheerful paint job at the National Bank of Middlebury drive-up to be offensive.
I did not see it, as I am of the old school and still enjoy walking into the branch office to have a pleasant conversation with the teller or other people I know.
Surely there must be more important things to take issue with than a fresh new look at the back of the bank. This must have been done with the thought in mind, how can we make today and banking just a bit brighter. This bit of cheer has now been painted over.
Our house has been white for the past 38 years. This year my wife and I decided it was time for a change and painted it gray and white. My point is this.
If change is so upsetting perhaps those who are opposed to it should not pass by our house and have their day spoiled. Repainting our house with white is not an option.
Be happy don’t worry.
