Commodore girls haunt Randolph soccer

RANDOLPH — The Vergennes Union High School girls’ soccer team earned a 4-0 win at Randolph on Thursday to move over .500 at 2-1-1.
Freshman Emily Rooney scored three times to spark the Commodore attack, and senior Annika Vorsteveld netted the fourth goal.
The Commodore defense limited the 0-1 Galloping Ghosts to one shot on goal, which VUHS goalie Anya Sonwaldt stopped to earn the shutout. Kiara Nonemacher made 16 saves for Randolph.
