Many participate in Ralph Myhre golf tournaments
MIDDLEBURY — In a busy stretch at Ralph Myhre Golf Course, the course hosted a Ladies Member-Member or Member-Friend tournament on Saturday and the 37th annual Gordie Perine Alumni Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, as well as last week’s usual Thursday afternoon Bill Davidson Men’s Golf and Friday Night Mixer events.
The Ladies’ tournament produced a tie for Team Low Gross between the trio of Elizabeth Sacheli, Deirdre Morris and Cheryl Leblanc and the foursome of Betsy Gossens, Lisa Patton, Charlene Stavenow and Suzanne Loker.
Gossens, Patton, Stavenow and Loker doubled up by winning Team Low Net outright, with the quartet of Nicole Laberge, Joan Guertin, Julie Vest and Kathy Mackey taking second.
Leblanc and Mackey won Closest to the Line contests, and Leblanc and Loker won Nearest to the Pin competitions.
Saturday action in the Gordie Perine Tournament produced a tie for Team Low Gross among four duos: Larry Stabler and Mason Wells, John Hammond and Michael Clinton, Rick Makin and David Wagstaff, and Michael Schoenfeld and Ashley Cadwell.
Marc Tabah and Jory Makin were fifth, and Brian O’Day and Chris Wall finished sixth.
Stabler and Wells were first in Team Low Net on Saturday, followed by Rick Makin and Wagstaff, the teams of Roy Craig and Bruce Byers and Karl Peterson and Gregory Peterson in a third-place tie, and the teams of William Oberrender and Andrew Donnelly and Schoenfeld and Cadwell tied for fifth.
Joanie Donahue, Makin and Hammond won Longest Drive competition, and Gregory Peterson won a Closest to the Pin contest.
On Sunday, the tournament concluded with the Blue & White Scramble, won by Wall, Marc Tabah, Rick Makin and Wells. The foursome of Michael Schoenfeld, Deem Schoenfeld, Jane Schoenfeld and Cadwell finished second, and the quartet of Hammond, Clinton, Byers and Craig were third.
Longest Drive contest winners were Jane Schoenfeld, Byers and Wagstaff.
Closest to the Pin winners were Cadwell, Kevin Daly, Oberrender and Deem Schoenfeld.
In Sept. 8 Thursday Afternoon Bill Davidson Men’s Golf play, the trio of Mike Adams, John Davis and Nick Causton prevailed, followed by the threesomes of Glen Wehrwein, Charlie Grigg and Fred Belanger, and Paul Butt, Jeff Stetson and Frank Punderson, respectively. Adams was the Low Net winner.
In Friday Night Mixer action, the foursome of Georgia Best, Wes Smith, Deb Hadeka and Bill Laberge won, with the team of Joan Guertin, Jim Craig Liz Andrews and Jackson Richards taking second place.
