Opinion: Many made bike race a success

On behalf of all 700 competitors in this past weekend’s Green Mountain Stage Race I would like thank all of those who helped host a safe and successful long weekend of bike racing.
Thank you to the communities of Weybridge and New Haven (Saturday’s Circuit Race) and Granville, Hancock, Ripton, Middlebury, Bristol and Starksboro (Sunday’s Road Race) for hosting us.
Thank you to law enforcement, emergency responders and volunteers for keeping things safe. Thank you to the spectators for cheering us on. And thank you to all the owners of local lodging, eateries and other establishments for serving our out of town guests.
The only thing better than racing bikes on a beautiful Labor Day Weekend is racing bikes at home in Vermont on Labor Day Weekend.
