High school cross country teams open in Essex races

ESSEX — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ cross-country team on Saturday finished second among Division II teams, and ninth overall, in the Essex Invitational, the first full meet of the season.
The Tiger girls took third in D-II and also finished ninth overall. The Mount Abraham boys were seventh in D-II and 16th overall.
The Eagle girls did not compete, nor did any Vergennes runners.
The top individual finish overall among county runners came from Tiger Caroline Kimble, who was third in the D-II girls’ race (16th overall). The Tigers’ Ross Crown took fourth in D-II (20th overall), while the top Eagle finisher was Aidan May, who was 23rd in that race.
The Tiger boys and their D-II places and times were: 4. Crowne, 17:45.6; 8. Henry Ganey, 18.34.2; 9. Julian Schmitt, 18:42.4; 24. Silas Conlon, 20:27; 25. Daniel Wisell, 20:28; 26. Ethan Reiderer, 20:32.5.
The Eagle boys and their D-II places and times were: 16. May, 20:19; 29. Andrew Raymond, 21:50.6; 31. Ross Carr, 21:54.2; 34. Will Aldrich, 22:27.8; 40. Jude Bunch, 24:07.1; 44. Brian Cousineau, 28:12.9.
The Tiger girls and their D-II places and times were: 3. Kimble, 21:04.8; 8. Kate Oster, 22:24.1; 18. Kate Wallace, 23:55.3; 20. Isabel Olson, 24:24; 21. Taylor Moulton, 24:24.7; 22. Katherine Koehler, 24:42.9.
