Opinion: Natural gas offer fails to deliver

Set aside for the moment the absurdity of building more fossil fuel infrastructure in the twenty-first century, it’s obvious what Vermont Gas Company is doing with their pipelines.
They have a lot of expensive fracking equipment to pay for and which has created a glut on the market, holding down prices. They want to keep building pipelines until this artificial demand exceeds the supply, then they can declare a shortage and jack up prices. It’s a scam.
The Town of Middlebury is allowing the greedy arrogant gas company to violate your household plumbing — they put in their connector through your sewer pipe. Then you will be spammed by the gas appliance salesmen. No, no, the answer is NO.
