If you have not voted already, I hope you will consider supporting Sue Minter in campaign to become Vermont’s next governor. I got to spend an evening with her and was so impressed and thought I should share what I saw. She is clearly an intelligent, capable and perceptive person who has been in Montpelier for recent years in different capacities and understands the people and current issues in our citizen legislature. She is very much in touch with how issues effect people and how to structure projects so they can move forward, to work inclusively with all perspectives and sees the challenges in that. Indeed it is what has been called her “project management skills” that make her the best candidate for the position.
She also has incredible energy and passion for serving Vermont. From the start she has been supporting efforts to deal with gun violence with background checks while recognizing Second Amendment rights. Opiate addiction is a big concern for Sue and something she wants to be a high priority. I got to talk one-on-one with her and appreciated how she gave me full attention and listened. We discussed health care and she intends to support the incremental moves that have started toward single player with a focus on affordability to start. Climate change is an important issue for her and natural gas she assured me is not on her list of sustainable, clean energy solutions to this issue. I hope you will consider voting for Sue Minter in the Democratic primary on or before Aug. 9.
