New magazine seeking art and literature submissions

VERGENNES — Zig Zag Lit Mag, Addison County’s recently founded literary and arts magazine, is calling for final submissions for its inaugural issue. The first issue is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2016, and the deadline window for submissions will close on July 31. The magazine will be published online and in a limited number of print copies.
Funded by a Small and Inspiring Grant from the Vermont Community Foundation, the magazine is accepting submissions by email ([email protected]) and through the website zigzaglitmag.org. The volunteer editorial board will be accepting submissions of black-and-white artwork, and all forms of artistic literature. Those submitting work are limited to three pieces and 6,000 words total.
More details can be found at zigzaglitmag.org.
One of the magazine’s primary goals is to support and connect Addison County’s creative community, and the participation of local artists and writers will make for a stronger network in the area.
“Our stories create, strengthen and reinforce the identity of our communities,” said magazine co-founder and editor Muir Hama. “Zig Zag Lit Mag aspires to be an entirely local means for creative individuals to support and participate in these community-building exercises.”
