Workshop in Orwell can help you write your family’s history
ORWELL — Have you been researching your family history and wondering where to go next? What do you do with all your notes? Joanna Tebbs Young will lead a workshop, titled “Turning your Genealogical Research into a Narrative,” on Saturday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell.
Young is a columnist, writing instructor and coach. In this hands-on workshop she will help participants access their creativity and learn writing techniques to turn their family history into a narrative and legacy for future generations. Participants should bring writing utensils, questions and a bag lunch or snack.
Pre-register by calling 802-948-2000. The workshop fee is $25 and includes admission to the site. The workshop is offered by the Mount Independence Coalition, friends group for the historic site.
Mount Independence State Historic Site is located 497 Mount Independence Road in Orwell.
