ACTR to hold a rider appreciation week

MIDDLEBURY — Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) and Marble Valley Regional Transit District (MVRTD) are celebrating the Rutland Connector Bus’s tenth anniversary with a rider appreciation week July 11-15, 2016.
Since 2006, the Connector Bus has linked Middlebury, East Middlebury, Salisbury, Leicester, Brandon, Pittsford and Rutland along the Route 7 corridor. Originally the route offered weekday a.m. and p.m. commuter service. Strong ridership led to more state investment in 2008 and 2013 to expand services during the middle of the day and on Saturdays. Other factors in the route’s success include convenient Park and Ride stops in East Middlebury, Salisbury, Leicester and Brandon, and employer perks, such as Middlebury College’s transit commuter benefit.
For each trip throughout the tenth anniversary week, July 11-15, a Connector rider may submit a raffle entry to win a Kindle Fire HD10 — the winning names will be announced when the week is over. On Friday, July 15, a free tote bag will be given away to each Connector rider while supplies last.
“We are gratified to see how well this service meets the needs of so many commuters and other riders between Middlebury and Rutland,” said Executive Director Jim Moulton. “It means we are helping people and improving their quality of life.”
ACTR enhances the economic, social and environmental health of the region by providing community transportation services that are safe, reliable, accessible and affordable for everyone.
