Ralph Myhre sees busy schedule of golf tournaments

MIDDLEBURY — The Ralph Myhre Golf Course held two tournaments last week as well as its weekly Thursday men’s golf and Friday Evening Mixer events.
On June 25 and 26, the course hosted its Men’s Member/Member Tournament. The Gold Tees Low Gross top finishers were Bert Phinney and George Wendel, and the Gold Tees Low Net top performers were Jim Rubright and Tom Maxwell.
The White Tees Low Gross top finishers were Brent Raymond and Carsen Sanchez, and the White Tees Low Net top finishers were Mike Adams and Eric Bergland.
On June 24 Ralph Myhre hosted the Addison County Chamber of Commerce-Hannaford Career Center Scholarship Golf Tournament. SymQuest took first, followed by Casella in second and Addison Advisors in third. IPJ Real Estate was the top women’s team.
In Thursday men’s golf results on June 23, the foursome of Marsdin Van Order, Ed Sommers, Fred Belanger and Jeff Stetson took top honors, followed by the quartets of Glen Wehrwein, Nick Causton, Mike Adams and Don Dayton, and Matt Biette, Neil Mackey, Bergland and Pete Hubbard in second and third, respectively. Ron Kowalski posted the top low gross score, and Wehrwein had the best low net score.
In Friday evening golf mixer results two foursomes tied for first place: Bob Cameron, Liz Andrews, Joan Guertin and Bill Charron being one, and Catherine Kowalski, Bernie Andrews, Sheri Lichtenfels and Jay Best the other.
Bill Charron won the men’s nearest-to-the-pin competition, and Gail Smith was the women’s nearest-to-the-pin victor.
Signup is also under way for Ralph Myhre’s annual Dud Phinney Member Guest Tournament, which will be held July 29 to 31 with a new three-day format. There will be an 18-hole qualifying round on the first day, followed by two rounds of nine-hole match play, plus a complimentary practice round offered on any day before the tournament.
