Lincoln Little Leaguers beat Starksboro for county baseball title

LINCOLN — Host Lincoln defeated Starksboro, 5-2, on June 18 to win the first-ever Addison County Little League 11-12-year-old baseball championship.
Starksboro scored twice in the top of the first inning, but Lincoln answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. The home team added two insurance runs in the fifth inning.
The Lincoln team, comprised of fifth- and sixth-graders from the Lincoln Community School, completed an undefeated season at 17-0, while Starksboro finished at 9-8.
The members of the Lincoln team are Caleb Atkins, Eli Burgess, Jade Edwards, Joe Graziadei, Neil Guy, Nate Howell, Dustin Lavigne, Creed Stilwell, Ethan Thompson and Paul Thurber.
Brady Burgess, Dan Guy and Tommie Thompson coached the Lincoln squad.
