Partnership meeting to honor Vergennes resident with community service award
VERGENNES — The Vergennes Partnership will hold its 2016 annual meeting on Monday, June 20, at Kennedy Brothers, and it will include a presentation of what partnership officials call a “much deserved community service award” to a longtime city resident.
Guest speaker Gary Holloway, Vermont’s Downtown Program Coordinator, will discuss the importance of investing in the future of the state’s downtowns.
The partnership board plans to celebrate its recent accomplishments and update guests on community projects performed or supported by the organization, including Vergennes Restaurant Week, Arts Walk 2016, “Buy Local” shopping events, helping downtown businesses expand and helping to recruit new ventures, installing Wi-Fi in the Otter Creek Basin and picnic tables on the city green, performing city beautification projects, and creating a welcome-to-Vergennes website.
The meeting will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Appetizers will be served, and there will be a cash bar.
