Middlebury childcare center to offer music, fun and auction this Saturday

MIDDLEBURY — The Otter Creek Child Center is putting a fun new spin on its annual fundraiser, and will cap its online auction with a family-friendly event: the “Otter Romp.” Slated for Saturday, June 11, from 6-9 p.m., at the renowned Lincoln Peak Vineyard in New Haven, the Otter Romp will offer families and supporters an evening of entertainment, music, food and fun.
Based in Middlebury since 1984, Otter Creek Child Center (OCCC) has served more than 550 families in and around Addison County while helping children discover their love for learning. OCCC is a nonprofit early childhood education program that has earned official accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and a five-star rating from the Vermont STARS child care quality recognition system.
OCCC’s annual online fundraising auction, held through BiddingForGood, will be open for 10 days, from Wednesday, June 1, through Friday, June 10. The auction’s donation drive set records in 2016, with over 160 donated items totaling over $10,000 in value up for bid.
Among the lots for bid are a pair of passes to the famed Boston Duck Tours; a family admission pack to the Champlain Valley Fair; and family passes to the Jay Peak Pump House indoor waterpark. Other bid items include tickets for University of Vermont men’s basketball; passes from several Vermont ski areas; gift certificates from many local restaurants; and more than 100 other items.
The event is family-friendly with a 50/50 raffle, food from Green Pasture Meats in New Haven, live music from the band Discolicious, and homemade pie for sale. Admission is free.
Lincoln Peak Vineyard is located at 142 River Road in New Haven, just five minutes from downtown Middlebury.
