Platt Library to hold annual plant sale fundraiser June 11

SHOREHAM — Pick up a new book, purchase locally grown annuals and perennials, or indulge your sweet tooth with fresh rhubarb pie: Shoreham’s Platt Memorial Library is holding its annual book and plant sale on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The annual fundraiser — a major source of support for the Shoreham library — will feature thousands of donated books, many DVD and VHS movies, and a selection of plants donated by local greenhouses and individuals. Among the plants for sale will be flowering annuals and perennials as well as herbs and succulents; and a master gardener will be on hand to answer gardening questions.
Shoreham’s best pie bakers will provide a taste of spring with rhubarb pie, available whole or by the slice; coffee and tea will also be available for sale. Additionally, visitors can purchase raffle tickets for a painting by Shoreham watercolor artist Deborah Holmes. Proceeds from the raffle, which will be drawn in September, will benefit the library’s building fund.
For more information, contact the library at 897-2647 or [email protected], or library trustee Kathryn Flagg at [email protected] or 989-3465.
