Middlebury girls’ tennis downs U-32

EAST MONTPELIER — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ tennis team defeated host U-32 on Wednesday, 6-1, to improve to 8-6.
With one match left in the regular season, at home vs. Harwood on Monday, the Tigers have clinched a winning record heading into the Division I playoffs.
The individual match results on Wednesday were:
•  At No. 1 singles, Bree Cotroneo (M) defeated Alex Hepp (U), 6-1, 6-3.
•  At No. 2 singles, Claire Wulfman (M) defeated Grace Dellinger-Pate (U), 7-5, 6-3.
•  At No. 3 singles, Charlotte Keathley (M) defeated Abi Brewer (U), 6-1, 6-1.
•  At No. 4 singles, Addie Hannan (U) defeated Monroe Cromis (M), 6-2, 4-6, 11-9.
•  At No. 5 singles, Middlebury won by forfeit.
•  At No. 1 doubles, Amelia Ingersoll/Amber Benatti (M) defeated Parima Chaipanitcharoen/Francis Kaplan (U), 6-1, 6-3.
•  At No. 2 doubles, Tasha Hescock/Elizabeth Chamberlain (M) defeated Kanwara Limakara/Robyn Dudley (U), 6-3, 6-3.
