Satchel McLaughlin (two goals, assist) and Isabel Rosenberg (two goals) led the attack, and goalie Raven Payne stopped 12 shots. Rice dropped to 11-3 as the Tigers passed the Green Knights in the standings.
On Friday, the Tigers outscored host Essex in the second half, 6-4, to earn a 9-7 victory. Rosenberg paced the attack with four goals, and McLaughlin added a pair. Payne backstopped the win with seven saves, while Hornet goalie Elise Carney made three saves.
