MUHS girls’ tennis team edged by host BFA-St. Albans
ST. ALBANS — Host BFA-St. Albans edged the Middlebury Union High School girls’ tennis team on Monday, 4-3. The Comets improved to 10-1, while the Tigers dropped to 5-5.
Winning for the Tigers were sophomore No. 1 singles player Bree Cotroneo and both doubles teams.
The results were:
• At No. 1 singles, Cotroneo, M, defeated Michele McKay, B, 6-1, 6-2.
• At No. 2 singles, Laurel Hebert, B, defeated Claire Wulfman, M, 6-4, 6-2.
• At No. 3 singles, Helen Barneau, B, defeated Charlotte Keathley, M, 6-2, 6-4.
• At No. 4 singles, Mariah Stanley, B, defeated Monroe Cromis, M, 6-2, 6-1.
• At No. 5 singles, Shannon Callahan, B, defeated Calista Carl, M, 6-1, 6-2.
• At No. 1 doubles, Ember Benatti/Amelia Ingersoll, M, defeated Paige Bedard/Georgia Babb, B, 6-0, 6-4.
• At No. 2 doubles, Tasha Hescock/Zibby Chamberlain, M, defeated Adt Morgan/Leigh Rae, B, 6-3, 6-4, 10-6.
