Boys’ lacrosse: Otters notch only victory

ADDISON COUNTY —  In high school boys’ lacrosse play earlier this week, only Otter Valley earned a victory, as Mount Abe, Middlebury and Vergennes all dropped road contests.
OTTERS
On Monday, the Otters defeated visiting Randolph, 10-7, in a Division III clash. Colton Leno’s three goals and four assists paced the attack, and Collin Eugair scored twice. Five Otters added a goal apiece: Erik Sherman,Keenan Pratt,Will Ross,Ethan Sulik-Doty andHayden Gallo. Coach Jesse Milliman said defenders Rexal Bautista, Trevor Lear andJared Felkl played well in front of goalie Alec Stevens (seven saves).
With the announcement that Montpelier has forfeited a May 10 game vs. OV due to a lack of players on that date, the Otters improved to 3-7.
EAGLES
On Tuesday, host D-II squad Harwood defeated the D-III Eagles, 16-7, as Highlander Connor Woolley netted six goals.
Lucas Richter (four goals) and Owein LaBarr (two goals) led the attack for the Eagles, who dropped to 7-3, but remained in second place in D-III.
TIGERS
On Monday, host Woodstock avenged an early-season loss to MUHS, 10-7. Ali Abdul Sater andJack Hounchell scored two goals apiece for the Tigers, and Jack Donohue,Jake Peluso andSpencer Carpenter added a goal apiece. Carpenter led MUHS with seven ground balls, and Fyn Fernandez scooped four. Eli Miller stopped seven shots in the Tiger goal. MUHS dropped to 5-6.
COMMODORES
On Monday, undefeated D-II host Burlington topped VUHS, 18-5. Tyler Crowningshield scored three goals and set up one for VUHS, and Tyler Kepes tallied twice. Goalie Broc Clark made 12 saves for the 6-4 Commodores, who remained in fourth place in D-III.
