Unified ACSD to debut on June 22
MIDDLEBURY — The first meeting of the new Addison Central School District Board will take place on Wednesday, June 22, at 6 p.m., at a location still to be determined.
This information was confirmed on May 5 by officials with the Addison Central Supervisory Union and the Vermont Agency of Education. The first meeting is expected to be focused on board organization, such as election of officers and future topics of conversation, officials said.
Residents in the ACSU member towns of Bridport, Cornwall, Middlebury, Ripton, Salisbury, Shoreham and Weybridge on March 1 voted overwhelmingly to form a unified Addison Central School District that will govern all public schools in the seven towns and place all of them under a single education budget. The vote came in response to Act 46.
The unified district will be governed by a 13-member ACSD board, the members of which were installed by district voters on March 1. That panel consists of Suzanne Buck of Bridport; Perry Hanson of Ripton; Peter Conlon of Cornwall; Jennifer Nuceder of Salisbury; Nick Causton of Shoreham; Christopher Eaton of Weybridge; and Lorraine Morse, Josh Quinn, Steve Orzech, Jason Duquette-Hoffman, Ruth Hardy, John Rees and Victoria Jette of Middlebury.
