Tiger girls’ lax bested by CVU
HINESBURG — Host Champlain Valley defeated the Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team on Friday, 13-7, dealing the Tigers their second straight setback after their 7-0 start.
The 7-3 Redhawks also avenged an earlier 6-4 loss at MUHS when they scored five straight second-half goals to establish an insurmountable six-goal lead. CVU’s Emma Owens (five goals) and Annie Keen (four goals) led the offense, and goalie Bailee Pudvar made seven saves.
Emma Best led Tigers with three goals, Ada Anderson scored twice, and Emma Donohue added a goal and two assists. Goalie Raven Payne made three saves.
