United Way awards celebration is May 26

MIDDLEBURY — United Way of Addison County will hold its 2016 Community Celebration on Thursday, May 26, at 4:30 p.m. Tourterelle Inn & Dining will sponsor this event at its beautiful hillside location in New Haven. All are welcome to this free, family-friendly event to help UWAC thank and honor the people and businesses who help their friends and neighbors achieve better lives.  
UWAC will present awards to individuals and businesses who have demonstrated collaborative efforts to strengthen and improve our community; have shown exemplary support and generosity in time and resources for the betterment of their community; as well as those businesses that have supported the United Way Campaign.
One of the high points of the evening is the presentation of Senior Youth Service Awards. New this year will be the introduction of two $1,500 scholarships awards to be used for ongoing education, which was donated by an anonymous donor. These two awards will be given to high school seniors who have performed volunteer services that have positively impacted our community and themselves. The public is invited to nominate youth volunteers by downloading the nomination form from the website www.unitedwayaddisoncounty.org or calling the office, 388-7189.
This celebratory event includes hors d’oeuvres from the Tourterelle kitchen. The event is free and open to the public. RSVPs arerequired for planning purposes. Call 388-7189 to RSVP or for more information.
